Baghdad Bazaar Again
It is illegal to block sidewalks in New York City unless you're engaging in a protest or other First-Amendment protected activity. I don't think "Bagdad Bazaar" qualifies. These folks have been setting up informal junk sales on West 187th Street for the past few months. If you want to respond to this mess, call 311 and insist on filing a report of a blocked sidewalk.

I think it adds to the charm of the neighborhood. Which I admit is not for everyone. But I like it.
ReplyDeleteSure, charming...but some of the stuff is being recycled from local trash bins of nearby buildings--which would be great, but a friend of mine ID'd her bed-bug infested belongings at the Bazaar not so long ago.
