Red admiral butterflies are usually around New York City this time of year. But this year they are present in record-breaking numbers and can be seen anywhere there are flowers. This is probably due to the warm winter, which has extended their usual summer range far north in Canada. Here is one in the Heather Garden in Fort Tryon Park.
