While up in Riverdale today having a pint at An Beal Bocht, I bumped into Tony Caffrey, part owner of the future Dark Horse restaurant on 181st Street. I asked him what the ETA is for the new restaurant here in Hudson Heights--none yet. He's apparently still dealing with obtaining various City approvals and clearing prior violations associated with prior owners of Hispanola. Good luck Tony, we're looking forward to the new place.
P.S.-Mr. Caffrey and friends have also acquired the leasehold for the former cigar bar to the east of the Dark Horse and are planning an Irish/English-themed cafe, deli and specialty foods store.
