You'll Be Seeing More of Mary Jane

The Commissioner of the New York City Police Department has issued an order to cops not to arrest people for simply having marijuana on display in public.  According to NY1, this policy is intended to better reflect  New York law, which makes possessing 25 grams or less of pot a "non-criminal offense punishable by a fine" rather than arrest.

Here's a dime bag found at the northern edge of Fort Tryon Park and Dyckman Street--a favorite location for outdoor smoking these days.

The Gazette welcomes reader responses to this change in NYPD policy.
