Well, Thursday was our lucky day. The sun was bright, the air was balmy. As we walked to Buunni (Must. Have. Salted. Caramel. Latte) suddenly we noticed that the door to 209 Pinehurst Ave was open! Work was going on inside!

Then we were lucky enough to meet Chef James "Mac" Moran who gave us a few tantalizing details on the restaurant, to be called The Rusty Mackerel. It will specialize in Mediterranean style small plates - ideal for sharing and sampling a wide range of flavors. The restaurant will feature a chef's table reserved for tasting menus. Expect an excellent wine menu as Christian from Vines on Pines is heading that up. A spring opening is planned.
