OccupyWallStreet remains in the news, especially when concerning upper Manhattan. We posted about it last week and it was also covered in the most recent edition of the Manhattan Times.
We recently learned of a community event that touches on many concerns shared by the OWS movement.
On Sunday, October 23 from 2-4PM, neighborhood residents are invited to a community discussion entitled "Ending Wars Abroad Can Create Jobs at Home" at the Holyrood Church (W179th & Ft. Washington Ave).
Speakers include Bill deBlasio (NYC Public Advocate) and Richard Wolff (Economist). The event is being organized by the North Manhattan Neighbors for Peace and Justice, the Barack Obama Democratic Club, Riverside Edgecome Neighborhood Association and Councilman Ydanis Rodriguez.
Will you be attending this event? If so, what are your concerns and/or ideas?
