Hanukkah / Chanukah is upon us! Here's a quick round-up of neighborhood events for the Festival of Lights.
Breuer's Yeshiva PTA Annual Chanukah Boutique
Sunday December 2nd

There are many vendors selling wares including all your Chanukah candle and oil needs, Judaica, jewelery, toys and games, giftware, cookbooks, clothing and much more! Support a local school while buying all your Chanukah needs. Free Parking is available in the public school yard on 186th and Broadway.
From 1:00pm-3:00pm there will be a Chanukah Family Fun Day. Come watch a menorah ice sculpting demonstration while sipping hot cocoa. There will be moonwalks, bouncy houses, sports activities and Chanukah crafts for children.

Hot Pstromi Concert

$18 ($10 for students/children).
Beth Am, the People's Temple presents our 12th annual "Khanike in the
Kheights" klezmer concert. This year we'll enjoy an all-acoustic
performance, in a more intimate setting: the Community Room at Castle
Village (110 Cabrini Blvd., enter through iron gates at driveway).

The Annual FTJC Hannukah Party

Food, fun, camaraderie and even some skillful challenges to the traditional twist of the dreidel. You can’t be crowned the Extreme Dreidel Grand Champion if you don’t come.
Price: $10/person, $20/family, plus at least one item donated towards our food drive to benefit JCC-WHI. Items must bear a kosher certification, and be unopened, unexpired, undented, and not junk food. The best items are tuna, peanut butter, canned fruit or vegetables, pasta, and small boxes of Parmalat milk.

The schedule for the evening is:
6:30 — Food and children’s activities (face painting, crafts, and games)
7:30 — Community candle lighting
8:00 — Kumzitz (singalong and storytelling) and 1st Annual Extreme Dreidel Competition9:30 -- after-party at Buddha Beer Bar (4476 Broadway, at W 191 St). Try 8 different beers, one for each crazy night of Hanukkah! Additional cost is $12/person
