The New York Times reported yesterday about a series of burglaries in northern Manhattan, including Cabrini Boulevard. The burglar's signature is a dab of Vaseline on the peepholes of neighboring apartments to ensure that nobody can peek out and identify the intruder as he enters and leaves the victim's apartment. He enters by prying open front doors when apartments are unoccupied (get yourself a strong dead bolt).
One eyewitness describes the burglar as follows: "man, in his 50s and clean shaven, was wearing dark glasses and a cap, and was using a wooden cane." No race or ethnicity was provided.
